Bindery

The Bindery is fully equiped and professionally staffed and offers a full binding service. Our main clients are the University Divisions and Departments, but students and staff are welcome to submit work for private binding.

Binding Services

• Hard bound - machine sewn, hard case, gold blocking (lettering) on cover.
• Temporary - coloured card or clear plastic front and back, wire stitched (stapled) and a strip of cloth down spine.
• Perfect - Paperback style binding, for use on long runs.

Prices

• Hard bound - $35 a copy. Extra charges for extra blocking, leather or gilt corners.
• Temporary - $6 for a single copy. Long runs attract a cheaper price.
• Wire spiral binding - $5 for a single copy. Long runs attract a cheaper price.
• Perfect - price on application.

Theses

Theses are temporary bound prior to final correction and hard bound for final submission. Copies are $30 each.

For $40 a copy, theses will be bound in three working days. Normal turnaround time for theses is 4-5 weeks.

Temporaries are bound in one hour.

Although the Bindery is not responsible for photocopying theses, we are happy to arrange copying.

Special Works

Book restoration, fancy boxes, solander (archival) boxes, manufacture and blocking of ring binders, presentation and gift binding, supply and cutting of paper and board.
