Internet Explorer Version 7
ITR issued Internet Explorer 7 Advice via Central Computing Bulletins on the 15th November, 2006 warning that users should refrain from updating or installing the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer, Version 7 (IE7). Users should check Recommended Browsers before considering any upgrade to their web browser.
The latest upgrade has caused problems with some JCU web services such as Mirapoint Webmail (Corporate Edition), the Serko Domestic Travel Online Booking Tool and the Technology One applications FinanceOne and the new StudentOne.
If you have already upgraded to IE7 then we suggest you uninstall IE7. This will automatically revert back to Internet Explorer Version 6 (IE6). Alternatively you can use Mozilla Firefox 2.0 when accessing JCU Web Services.
If you are unsure how to manage this please call InfoHelp or contact your IT Support Officer.
We believe that most of the issues mentioned above are still current. The campus Microsoft Update Service is currently set to not push out IE7, and until our vendors release versions or patches that make those products compatible with it we will not be releasing it onto staff desktop PCs.
