SurveysOnline Information
Need to send out a survey?
A new Survey Service is now available for setting up surveys through IT&R.
Capabilities of the survey
-
Suitable for surveys anticipating less than 1000 recipients per month (surcharge for recipients over 1000 per month)
-
Some native analysis of data - but not recommended for complex data manipulation
-
Export data for further manipulation of results in SPSS
Question Types
Select from over a dozen types of questions (single choice, multiple choice, rating scales, drop-down menus, and more.)
Analysis of Results
-
Results viewable as they are collected in real-time.
-
Creates live graphs and charts, allowing drill down for individual responses (anonymous).
-
Allows for secure sharing of survey results with others.
-
Powerful filtering allows display of all results or just the responses you're interested in.
-
For statistical analysis you or we can download the raw data into Excel or SPSS. If desired, we can export results from the survey into Excel, to provide you with an Excel spreadsheet with the results, including the 'open answer' answers.
-
How do respondents find the survey to complete it?
-
When your survey is created, a URL is generated. You can place this URL on any HTML page and use email to inform users how to access it.
-
Or you can use the popup invitation generator on a web page.
Branding
Your survey can have a logo at top which you need to provide, eg the JCU logo.
Timeline
Estimate, including pre-consultation, preparation of draft, trial-run and signoff, is between 2 days to a week. This can be confirmed after consultation.
Information we need
An IT&R staff member will contact you to discuss Design of survey (target audience, purpose, timeline). You will need to specify:
-
Any 'introductory' and final 'thank you' words for your survey
-
The questions set out in a Word document.
-
Indicate a Type for each question (Likert/scale/rating, Multiple Choice, etc)
-
Layout (Horizontal, vertical, separators, etc)
-
Which questions are optional, which are mandatory.
-
Which questions require an "Other" answer
-
If this survey is to go to a set of recipients, please list names and emails
-
other information you feel may be relevant.
Once your survey is set up in draft, we will check with you that it is what you need, and you and others can test-run the survey online before it goes live.
Cost
Cost will depend on survey length and complexity. Within 24 hours of receipt of your original specification you will be given an estimate on receipt of your specification that can be confirmed at completion and sign-off.
We recommend distribution methods such as sampling and target emailing, or a web page link to the survey. We would be happy to discuss this with you at outset.
At completion survey set-up will be charged to your nominated charge code.
