Library Resources

note: some of these resources will only be accessible on site at the JCU Library

Tropicat is the public access catalogue of James Cook University Library which

  • lists all print, electronic and audio-visual resources held
  • shows where a resource is located, its call number, and if it is available for loan
  • allows you to place holds on borrowable items.

Xrefer is a giant online reference library that provides you with access to a selection of reference books from a total of 240. xreferplus includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri and books of quotations, not to mention a range of subject-specific titles covering everything from art to accountancy and literature to law.

Journal Databases

    Tip: use the advanced search option and type in your keywords. Remember that phrases like south pacific should have quotation marks around them. For example: "south pacific", "kyoto protocol"
