• Click on Scholar Preferences (beside the Search box)
• When the Preferences window opens, scroll down to Bibliography Manager and check the option Show links to import citations into
• Use the drop-down menu to select EndNote
• Click on the Save Preferences button.
• Now when you do a search, you will see a link Import into EndNote after each reference.
• If you wish to save a reference to EndNote, click on the Import into EndNote link. When the File Download dialog box opens, click on Open.
• You will be asked to select an EndNote library. Select the library, and the reference will be imported.

Note for those using EndNote X: There is a problem with the filter supplied with the EndNote X software. When setting up the Google Scholar preferences, use the drop-down menu to select RefMan instead of EndNote. When you search on Google Scholar, you will now see links "Import into RefMan". Click on these links to import records to EndNote.

• When your search results are displayed, check the boxes beside references that you wish to download.
• Before proceeding to the next page of results, go to the Choose an Action menu, select Add to marked list and click on the Go button.
• When you have finished selecting items, click on view marked lists.
• Select all the items in the marked list and use the Choose an Action menu to select Download Citation. Click on the Go button.
• At the next screen, at Choose a format select EndNote Direct Export. At Choose detail required, select Citation and Abstract. At Choose delivery method, select Download File. Click on the Go button.
• When prompted, Open the file.
• Select the EndNote library where you wish to save the references.
• The references will import automatically.

To download records:

• Mark required records.
• Click on update marked list before proceeding to the next screen of results.
• After marking records, click on Bookmarking options and select Marked List.
• When marked list is displayed, click on Export options and select EndNote.
• When prompted, choose the EndNote library where you wish to save the references.

NOTES:

• The Marked List function may work better using Firefox as your browser.
• If the EndNote export function does not work, select the plain text export option and import the file using the filter.
