An InfoHelp How To...? Guide
JCU Webmail uses the Mirapoint Corporate Edition product to deliver email services to JCU Students and Staff. The advantage of a web-based email client is it allows you the flexibility of access to your JCU email from anywhere in the world, using a web browser connected to the internet. It also incorporates Calendar and Task scheduling features, something that was not part of the previous mail system.
To access JCU webmail you will require an active JCU computer username (login) and password. If you do not know, or cannot remember, your JCU username/password then contact InfoHelp.

Using Webmail
The Mail Toolbar (the row of command icons and menus running horizontally along the top) and navigation pane to the left (below the application tabs) offer many ease-of-use features. Read this section to get the most out of each.
Using the Application Tabs
The applications are available in the left-hand navigation “pane” of the window as stacked tabs, see Figure 1 below for an example. Clicking a tab opens an application pane to the right. At the top of each application pane runs a toolbar that changes for each application. Use the application tabs in the left-hand navigation pane as described below.

Using the Mail Toolbar
Throughout Webmail, clicking a command button (shown below) in a toolbar gives you the default behavior, clicking the menu icon
opens a shortcut menu. Mousing over a command button displays a “tooltip” with information on using the button. You will also notice above the Mail Toolbar is a Mail Quota status bar, this indicates your total allocated storage quota and the amount currently used. See Figure 2 for an example of the Mail toolbar.
