Tropicat - Search Results

Viewing an eBook

The eBook is displayed when you select a title from your search results, or click on a NetLibrary link in Tropicat, and click on View this eBook.

Use the Previous and Next buttons on the navigation toolbar at the top of the document to turn the pages, or type in a page number and click on Go.

The panel on the left of the screen lists the Table of Contents, which you can use to select specific chapters and subsections for viewing. Click on the plus (+) signs next to the headings for more detail.

You can also use the Search this eBook option at the bottom left of the screen to find terms within the content. The display will show the first page containing your term and you can click on Next to view further hits.

Some eBooks are in PDF format and may require that you scroll to view each page and use the magnifying glass icon to enlarge the text size.

A Dictionary is available on the left of the screen for looking up unfamiliar terms.

Printing

Due to copyright restrictions you can only highlight one paragraph at a time of an ebook to copy and paste.   You can only print one page at a time. It is in a frame environment so you need to make sure your cursor is blinking in the right frame to print the page. You can also achieve this via print preview and select the frame you want to print.

Closing E-books

Click close item when done rather than closing the browser or clicking the browser back button. This closes the ebook and makes it accessible to other students without a delay of 15 minutes.
