Guide to Lending Services (Townsville & Cairns)

How to Borrow

Take the items you wish to borrow and your JCU ID card or borrower card to the AutoLoans machine, or to Lending Services staff (Townsville) or Library Services staff (Cairns).

A date due receipt is produced for all items borrowed.

Special loan conditions apply to MultiMedia Equipment.

Library materials from the Periodicals, Reference and Special Collections are available for loan only in exceptional circumstances, and with the permission of InfoHelp staff.

Curriculum Collection materials may be borrowed as part of the limits specified for JCU staff and students.

When to Borrow

Lending Services close 15 minutes before the advertised Library Building closing hours. Please listen for announcements concerning closing times.

Check notice boards or enquire at the Lending Services and InfoHelp Desks for details of Library hours.

Loan Conditions

Borrowers must use their current JCU ID card or borrower card.

Borrowers accept complete responsibility for the care of the library materials borrowed and for their return. All Library materials must be returned in good condition to the designated place on or before the due date or time indicated. Library materials will be deemed not to have been returned until such times as the transaction has been recorded by Lending Services staff.

Borrowers must comply with all borrowing conditions and policies. Copies of the Library Rules, Policies and Conditions are available from all service points within the Library upon request.
