Townsville Apollo Choir

The Apollo Choir flourished in Townsville before World War II and regularly gave concerts with its own orchestra. The conductor was Mr.A.W.Trembath, a local dentist, who had earlier (in the 1920s), beenassociated with the Charters Towers Curlew Choir. Mr. J.V. Squire, whose widow presented these records to the University, was a bass baritone who sang with the choir and also in a male voice quartet.
