Goondi School of Arts Records

Goondi lies three miles west of Innisfail on the bank of the Johnstone River and is the site where, in 1884, the Commonwealth Sugar Refining Company established its second mill in north Queensland.

The Goondi School of Arts was established in the 1930s and the most significant items in these records are the three minute books covering the years 1936 -1973. The documents were donated by the manager of the Goondi Mill in 1974.
