Ephemera

Printed ephemera such as pamphlets, brochures and theatre programs are a useful source of information about social history. The Library has a small collection of ephemera covering the same region and drawing on the same collection guidelines as the North Queensland Collection.

Items which the James Cook University Library acquires for the ephemera collection include;

  • performing arts programs from professional and amateur groups in the region;
  • posters from regional arts activities and regional tourist boards;
  • jubilee and official ceremony programs of north Queensland interest.

Material in Special Collections may not be browsed or borrowed. All material, except archives, is entered in the Library's online catalogue, Tropicat. Extra subject access is provided by the North Queensland Index.
