Role
As the Faculty Librarian I work with staff and students to provide optimum library service for the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences. Specifically I am also the Liaison Librarian for the School of Education, the Department of Anthropology, Archaeology and Sociology and the Department of Humanities. Particular responsibilities include:
- Acting as a focus for contact and enquiries from staff and students within the Schools
- Working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Library Liaison Officer, Leta Lenoy, to provide support for students and staff in the School of Indigenous Australian Studies
- Providing library and information skills education
- Collection development including maintenance of a collection of subject related network resources accessible via the World Wide Web
- Identifying new courses, trends, and areas of concern within the Faculty which may have implications for library planning
- Providing suitable induction for new staff and students.
