Welcome to the resources pages for the School of Creative Arts. This page looks at resources relevant to the New Media (NM) and Graphic Arts (GA) subjects and touches on pages which may be relevant to other subject strands.The SoCA Highlights Blog is a great way to find new resources, or explore some of the older ones. It looks at interesting resources right across the Creative Arts disciplines, covering Visual Arts, Music, Photography, Digital Media and Theatre... among other things. Make sure you visit it every week or so to see what's out there in the big wild word of web.

- Australian Public Affairs Indexing Service (APAIS) - a broad multidisciplinary resource focusing on Australia. It provides full text of articles where available. Available via Informit.
- Expanded Academic ASAP - indexes articles of general academic interest. Links to the full text of many journal articles. Available via InfoTrac.
- Project Muse (Arts and Humanities) Full text coverage of hundreds of journals.
- Intute: Arts and Humanities Gateway providing free online access to a variety of webpage's for education and research. Over 115,000 high quality educational web resources selected and annotated by subject specialists at several UK universities.
- Adam A gateway to art, design, architecture and media information. Soon to be superceded.
- BUBL Link Catalogue of Internet Resources. Browsable by Dewey Decimal numbers.
- Ask Search Engine - An alternative to Google and Yahoo. Uses a different search algorithm

- Design Week - Design; Advertising, marketing and public relations; Business and industries; Visual arts; Arts and humanities. Browsable online, accessible via E-Journals.
- Computer Arts - Offers free tutorial downloads from the web site. Only available in print at JCU Library
- Computer Graphics (Quarterly) - the official publication of the ACM SIGGRAPH organization

- SCAN: Journal of Media Arts Culture - a project of the Media Department, Macquarie University

- Computer Graphics World - some articles available for free, full-text.
- Mix - Journal for sound designers. Covers all industries involving sound design, including music and television.
- Inside Computer Graphics - Some free online articles. Connects to forums and job advertisements
- CG Channel - Web based magazine for computer graphics professionals
- Wired - Actually not a journal, but more of a news service. Wired collects reports and articles from various online journals and blogs, as well as having a few original articles.
JCU Library also has a number of journals related to multimedia and computer graphics that are only available in print. Search Tropicat for subjects or titles of interest.

- Database of Virtual Art - "documents the rapidly evolving field of digital installation art". A Project of Danube University Krems
- Digital Art Museum - "an on-line museum with a comprehensive exhibition of Digital Art supported by a wide range of background information including biographies, articles, a bibliography and interviews." Includes essays and a history section which lists key events and technologies according to date.
- Digital Blasphemy - Page showcasing the work of digital artist Ryan Bliss. Also has links to tools and other artists pages.
- Game Sound Design - a collection of articles from FilmSound.org covering the topic of sound in computer games
- Museum of Computer Art (MOCA) - a member of the University of the State of New York
- Savinoff Design Studios - Personal home page for digital artist Dmitry Savinoff. Also has tutorials and some handy links
